Mission Vision
In a collaborative effort, all metro Catholic parishes will develop a Social Justice and Outreach Center of excellence.

Mission Statement
All area Catholic parishes will work together toward establishing consistent and efficient delivery of Social Justice and Outreach services to people in need in our metro communities.  The foundation for this effort will be the 7 Key Principles of Catholic Social Teachings as outlined by the Archdiocese of Dubuque.  Development will include all areas of Social Justice and Outreach, using and refining best practices currently in place in our parishes as our guide.

MCO Garden Prep Day a success!


 
 







Thank you to all who braved the wind to prepare and plant our MCO garden.  We're now keeping our fingers crossed for lots of delicious beans, peas, lettuce, spinach, tomatoes, herbs, and much more in the coming months.  
A special thank you to Seed Savers in Decorah for donating such a wide variety of seeds.

COME VISIT THE PANTRY AND OFFICE 
If you have not visited the MCO office and food pantry,
please feel free to stop in during the week M-F 9am - 3pm (9am-1pm, Fridays during the summer).
Metro Catholic Outreach is located at 420 6th Street SE  (319) 739-5490.
 
Food Donations are always welcomed at MCO.  Food may be brought directly to the center 9:00-3:00 Monday through Friday, or collected in the parishes for the center.
 

Many thanks to all of the volunteers who have made this project a reality!  There are volunteer opportunities for food pantry and office work.

About Our Organization
Metro Catholic Outreach is a collaborative project of the 11 Catholic Parishes of the Cedar Rapids, Iowa Metro area.  This outreach provides a food pantry, call center for referrals 
and assistance and emergency financial assistance to those in need in our area.
